The first 30 minutes are amazing. Action packed and amazing.
And then... every trite and predictable thing you could imagine That could happen, happened. Amazingly consistent in that regard.
By the end, it was obvious that they had mailed it in. The kicker for me was when Fin and his new friend were standing on the millennium falcon, while it sped off through space. Ridiculous.
Overall, probably the second worst effort of the entire 9 part trilogy. Of course the phantom menace will always be the worst (thanks jar jar).
Especially after such a strong start, it was very disappointing.
If you love predictability and everything working our exactly as you thought it might, this one’s for you. The only saving grace are the visuals, and the action sequences in the first part of the movie. I would’ve been happier if I had walked out 30-60 minutes into the film.
