Garbage. You understand that the mother is a horrible parent after the first 10 minutes and one flashback, but are still treated to several trite rewinds to beat you over the head with this idea.
The acting is terrible and makes it almost impossible to make any emotional connection to the failing relationship between the mother and daughter.
The creature looks cheesy, and when the monster makes kills they are pretty boring, and of course in classic horror movie fashion- no one can act with any common sense (ambulance driver literally kicked the wind shield out of the vehicle after the monster slams into the ambulance). The attempts at suspense fall flat while you sit around waiting for SOMETHING to happen, and the mom and daughter just sit there whimpering in the car for wayyy too long.
Also, the monster is displaced by flashlights, not scared of torches, and also more flammable than a dura log.
The corny "alcoholism is a monster- find the LIGHT to drive them away" theme is played out, overly emphasized/obvious, and cringy throughout this hour and a half faux philosophical dumpster fire of a movie.
