Excellent. Just excellent. I understand that for some people this isn't the best option. It's slow, it has several layers of depth, there are a lot of metaphor and even poetry. I usually don't like the stupid "dystopian future" which usually means "I couldn't think of anything" , but in this case, if you actually pay attention, it makes a lot of sense, because that's (one of) the message(s). If it wasn't because this is a Netflix product, this would have been a classic for ages. Acting is amazing, script is superb, photography top class, direction is outstanding, the rhythm going up and (super) down without boring ... A masterpiece. And then... The finale. Can't spoil anything, but the last 5 minutes are... Something PS: not recommended for people with 5 seconds attention span

Perhaps the most touching story about WWII I've encountered (and I've seen many). The plot is complex and multi-layered, with both overt and subtle messages. It avoids typical 'Hollywood-style' setups or special effects. The "battle scenes" feel natural, not overdone. Unlike acclaimed series like Band of Brothers (which I also enjoyed, though it pales in comparison), this isn't just an hour of explosions and gore. The quieter moments prompt deeper reflection on the unfolding events. The ending is a masterpiece. I've already watched it five times and could easily watch it five more. On a side note, I've also watched Band of Brothers three times and The Pacific twice.

Great show. At first I didn't like the Netflix version, it felt too "Hollywood-esque' compared to the raw, real nature of the Channel 4 version. But after watching it again, I really liked it. The Netflix version still feels more shallow, but the problem is that you can't compare these seasons with a masterpiece. If you don't consider those previous seasons, the NF seasons are very strong on its own. In short: very recommended
