Prince Dowon is super annoying. What a useless, incompetent being! What kind of man who has no purpose, no ambition in life beyond a woman?? I can’t stand any scene with him in it. Can’t believe that’s the lead character! The Crown Prince and Officer Min on the other hand have more character!

I’m watching Mr Sunshine because it keeps popping up on Netflix. I’m at episode 9 now and not very interested in continuing on mainly because I think the female lead is totally miscast. She looks like a 12-year-old girl playing dress up so to have her play this character who is strong, patriotic, and supposed to be a flame is laughable. Most importantly, because she looks so young, to have her as the love interest of three men seems almost creepy. THE love story of the drama is that between her and Eugene Choi has no chemistry whatsoever. He looks too mature and worldly for her. She looks better as either his daughter or little sister. And all that ruins it for me. The historical background is super interesting though. And some of the sidekicks are fun: Mrs Haman and Gwansu the interpreter. Kyle is slightly racist in today’s eyes, is fitting for that time period.
