Great information on the benefits of no-till farming, the need for health starting with healthy diversity of microbes meant to live in soil, and the remarkable ability of soil and green cover to trap carbon from the atmosphere. Healthy soil can solve so many problems--as brought out--even some critical geo-political problems. We have practiced chemical warfare on the soil for too long. How to scale up to organic practices should be our no. one goal in modern ag.
Loved the big-picture of how cattle, well managed, can enhance green cover and even turn deserts back into grasslands.
Also loved the honesty that all-electric power won't sequester the carbon that is already in the atmosphere. I have an off-grid house and a hybrid car but you still often need fossil fuel-generated power as more than just a back-up. The sun doesn't regenerate batteries at night or very well on dark days. Solar system batteries need to be much better before we should even think about phasing out fossil fuels. Also, I don't want even basic transportation to be in the hands of just a handful of utility companies. Look what just happened in TX with the grid system failure during record cold. Talk about millions of people being thrown back overnight into primitive conditions. Fossil fuels don't have to be nearly as feared with proper soil management! Who would of thunk?!
