Despite looking and acting like every alpha male I detested in that era I found this a very exciting and revealing documentary on social change, a whole series should come out of it as there are so many ideas to develop. It comes across as a real one off and a lot of thought has gone into it, the series if it comes out will be really good but as ever each episode will reflect the law of diminishing returns, no good sit com really lasts.

The sorry thing is that Mr Loach gets accused of being fuelled solely by outrage and laying his message on with a trowel, more than fifty years he has been pointing out social ills, have his films effected any positive change? No. Sadly, not. We have the same sort of prime minister now that we had three hundred years ago, Peterloo was two hundred years ago, it's still the same mindset in power, irrespective of political stripe. The only difference might be that the so called left are just a little less openly contemptuous of Loach's characters. Yes, Mr Loach's films have changed nothing, but that does not mean he was not right to make them
