While I can appreciate the effort for one to attempt to go from YouTuber to legit filmmaker, this movie fell flat on every front. Bad characters, poor jokes, bad script, too long and also completely disconnected from the universe the fans recognize AVGN in. It just didn't work. Even the established main character came off a bit too unlikeable at times with the creator, writer and actor himself presenting himself as a celebrity akin to Michael Jackson every time he steps out in public. The soundtrack was good, but not great enough to make me give this more than one star. It's just a bad movie in every measurable way. Many use the modest budget as an excuse to go easy on this movie, but there have been plenty of films with even lesser budgets that were still focused, well made and even great films. Another few million dollars would not have made this a good film.
