Instantly dumb. Turned it off shortly after they came out brawling in the streets of 19th century Dublin to a rap soundtrack. Ooooh they’re so cool…it’s like a poor Guy Ritchie ripoff. I’m not gonna compare it to PB as so many others have because it was so annoying early on that it doesn’t even warrant a comparison.

I’m 3 episodes in and so far, good story, good writing, excellent characters. Speaking of, It has an all star cast of character actors. FX appears to have done it yet again!

At first it seemed like an interesting drama/murder mystery. Maybe if the character and plot development were better it would be worth the time investment. Most of them are just rich, dull scumbags. Contrary to popular hollywood belief, most people aren't instantly enthralled with the super rich just because they’re rich. Storyline and dialogue are basic daytime TV schlock. I gave it a few episodes to come around but never got more interesting than the first one.

What Hurk said- except I’m not from there so I don’t feel obligated to give the extra “cool to see my local bar in a movie” star. Mostly great actors, but I couldn't even make it long enough to see if Tommy Lee Jones was actually in the movie before I was forced to give up on it. Horrific dialogue, bad characters and the young actor’s mannerisms were a tad distracting.

!!!!!SPOILERS!!!! It was a good story with decent characters. I really hated the self absorbed mother character. The cops were both good, likable and the smug judge (I’m guessing the Spanish equivalent of a lead detective) was a sufficiently complex character who you were never sure whether to like or dislike. I watched it with subtitles. With all foreign shows, I don’t know how anyone can stand horrible dub actors. I’ve tried and it’s almost always unwatchable. !!!DON’T READ PAST HERE IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED!!! In the end I was left very disappointed. What was unfolding as a larger mystery was never fully resolved. How did the sex pest’s semen get on her shirt? What else was the mother hiding that they kept hinting at? Who attacked her in their home on July 4th? Was it the mom or dad? Nothing! There was also clear jury misconduct, which since it was included in the show, made it seem like there would be something else coming to deal with it. Nope. Just convicted and sentenced and mom commits suicide later on. No answers. I get it’s a true story and real life is rarely wrapped up nicely like a story, but why include such heavy foreshadowing for things that never materialize at all?? Overall 6/10

Catholic mumbo jumbo, wrapped in lame writing and annoying music/lighting. Always raining. Always very dark. Always over the top music and acting. If you enjoy the same old exorcist ridiculousness maybe this is for you. For many, this will be hard to make it through. I was the latter

Fell asleep about halfway through because it was sooooo slow. I woke up about 20 mins before the end and I don’t feel like I missed anything. I generally like Del Toro and it’s not horrible by any means. I felt like the editors were trying to manipulate me into feeling suspense where there was none. For instance, they try to distract you with loud eery music and cheesy sound effects to cover up the fact that there’s not a whole lot going on at times. Pretty boring and not a whole lot of interesting plot ruined it for me.

This movie is everything that Banshees of Inishirin should have been. Great characters, great dialogue, genuine interactions and hilarious writing. I cannot recommend this enough. Colin Ferrell wasn’t my favorite actor before I saw this but I give him permanent good actor status based on this one movie alone. Ralph Fiennes and supporting cast really shine as well. 10/10

It’s pretty laid back as far as pace goes, but there is a lot to do. For me, early on there was way too much walking in between towns. It’s a beautiful world and wildlife everywhere, but all the walking got pretty old. Besides an abundance of wildlife, there isn’t a huge amount of exciting stuff to keep you interested whilst on these journeys. Once I got a donkey to ride it helped immensely. Anyway, it’s a really good game. Relaxing and kind of addicting. Now I’m very good at spotting maple trees and chicory on my daily commute to work as well so that’s a plus.
