The movie's sense of humor is very dated, and no longer offers the chuckles of when it first became such a beloved romp. The Clouseau character's deliberate clumsiness seemed horribly forced and the snobby Euro-trash was tiresome. David Niven was the real star, whose perpetual air of sophistication was enjoyable. The best part of the movie is near the end when the party-goers, dressed in a riot of costumes, drive around town.
