There are several reasons why this is not as good as all reviewers claim, but probably the most disturbing is the fact that the female lead could pass, easily, for a 12 year old and no one seems to find this problematic. Not even, or especially since we are seeing her in multiple sex scenes. The casting directors knew what they were doing. It is of no consequence that this may be closer to "historically" accurate. It is obvious that creating a new historical reality is not an issue. In fact, it may be the only thing the creator did well was repaint history with a different brush.
