Despite its feedback of being "A direct copy" or "Looses its magic" and whatnot. In my personal opinion I think they failed to understand that it is a remake. This movie sure is not the best movie, but it is super far from bad. Here is some things I would like to say to some replies people gave about this movie 1st: "The movie is a complete copy and it looses its wonder" Well in some ways I can see why you say that, we all know what is going to happen. But that is why it is a remake of it. If you came in thinking that it was going to be a completely unique story then I dont think you know what it means to remake a movie 2nd: "Will smith does not capture Robin William" well, as much as I love Robin Williams act, if i am correct will was just respecting the legacy of our beloved genie that will always hold that special place in our hearts. Will Smith brings a whole new genie to the table that is not a direct rip off of our favorite genie that Robin played as a sign of respect. To show that they are not replacing Robin's character. That is my 2 personal opinions responding to the critics. I personally loved this movie with my heart and have watched it multiple times. If you loved the old Aladdin and want to see a great remake of it that is funny and musical and eye candy and all of that. Then go right ahead and watch it! But if you expect it to bring an entirely unique story and give you plot twists that were not in the original Aladdin. There are some, but the story mainly follows the original Aladdin with its own unique flavor. -Comrade Tophat 5/7/2020
