Honestly, I hate it. Where do I even start? The acting isn’t really any good. This whole show feels forced. They spent so much time rushing to plot everything out all at once that it becomes confusing and the dynamic nonsensical. In the original, Paige, the 4th sister who is half witch/half white-lighter, wasn’t introduced until far into the series after Prue died. In this remake, the very first season, they just half-assedly throw in a half witch/half white-lighter who is of no relation to the charmed ones. Instead she (Jada) is a leader of a secret witch cult/coven that comes off as a rebel group for rogue witches. They spend so much time and effort forcing feminism and women’s rights down our throats that any attempt to actually focus on magic, on good vs evil, is downright laughable. For instance, Harry the white lighter comes off more as a coach and a very British male nurse. He doesn’t seem to know anything or have that many powers. (Leo the original white lighter besides healing, could also erase memories, understand all languages and could actually fight) The new show seems to have forgotten that the Elders and white lighters are literally GUARDIAN ANGELS/THE POWERS THAT BE. These elders come off as bureaucrats that just sit there and make the rules. Pathetic.
