I would call myself a history buff, and this movie gave me strange vibes.
For one, the first episode confused me with the setting, at first I was expecting a Nazi puppet, similar to Vichy France, but then it felt more like a Nazi controlled America, which I mean, would most likely not happen, but hey, its alternative history, then half way into the first episode, thrown right back into puppet, then repeat that process a few hundred more times, so confusing on whether they were in Puppetted America, or in a German controlled America.
The Japanese felt like a highly watered down Imperialist Japan, it felt a lot more modern Japan then Imperialist Japan, along with the identity problem that the west had.
All in all, didn't explain the relationship of the AXIS and America well.
Second, felt very futuristic, or Americanish?
It felt like if you took a 60s America and slapped a Swastika on it, not a torn down, destroyed, German/Japanese puppet. You had American-like vehicles instead of Volkswagen, everyone felt like they just shrugged off the war and just accepted that the Nazis own them. As I said, it felt like a 60s America that has swastikas all over it.
This is small, but stop calling him Hitler, they called him Furhur, and if you speak English why do you keep using Deutsche/German terms. Sorry just had to rant.
Besides that everything that bring it down, good uniforms, characters are okay, as everyone says it slowly goes down hill, I decided to stop a little early, but besides that, I felt it was okay, not my favorite movie since the whole alternate history part was a little wonky, but you can over look those.
