Lady Bug

The ending ruined the whole book for me. A mystery is supposed to go somewhere and tie up loose ends, especially those that motivate the entire plot line. This one left u hanging mid air & not in a good way and resolved the psychologucal throughline as symbolized by the lead character, so poorly that I figured French had won herself out and just decided to do a wrap any old which way. I mean, why is one romance forbidden and another celebrated? In short, good until the end, which then leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The reader feels like they've been had!
