Watched it on HBO Max. Glad I did not spend money in a theatre! My wife and I loved the Matrix series. We both like most any movie with Keanu in it. She fell asleep in the middle of watching it, and I almost turned the channel to watch something else. If this had been the first movie, I never would have seen any sequels. The fight scenes were horrible. Every fight scene seems to require someone running on a wall in slow motion, often as the first part of the fight. Keanu's fight scenes are always awesome! However, in this movie, it was boring. It felt fake (and yes, I know movies are fake.....lol.....but you expect it to feel real). The storyline was bad. It is a mix of groundhog day being mixed with robocop, then throw some jar jar binks into it to make it really bad. None of the characters were 'likeable'. None of them built that sense of empathy with us. There is only 1 Morpheus, and his name is Laurence Fishburn! The new Morpheus even wore the no temples glasses that the original Morpheus wore......except in the scenes where they apparently forgot to do that. The makeup to make Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith) old was bad. It looked like a Halloween make up job from someone with a bit of skill, but not great. Not anywhere near the level that you would expect for an important character in a 190 million dollar budget movie. At the end of the day, rather than feeling entertained, I feel let down. This movie was a horrible finale for the series.
