One would expect the right leaning media to hate this as it delves into the devious hard hearted world of money lenders (modern day bankers?) who exploit their employees and swindle their clients. That is too much of lefty message for them but isn't that the case for all Dickens books?
But the whole drama is atmospheric, authentic and skilfully acted.
For some it might appear a little slow, just too far from the book and contains (god forbid) swear words that just did not happen in 1840 they will have you believe.
My wife and I loved it as did many of our friends so I say to the Mail/Telegraph critics, get over your sanctimonious selves and just enjoy the retelling of an classic old tale!
