I have been obsessed with this show. Enjoyed the costumes, the characters, the dynamics, and the development of the love stories. It's sexy, funny and smart. I love a show with beautiful settings countered with graphic violence. And this show uses that dynamic both for fun and poignantly! Like a rough house Bridgerton, and approachable if you like period pieces or not. But they made a major plot mistake in the second season, that to me makes the whole of the show cringey and no matter what comes of it I know I will be disappointed. If you want to give it a go I suggest tapping out after the first season because.... SPOILER

SPOILER- Unless you're into a love story between a woman and a man who slept that woman's mom, tap out after season 1. Peter sleeps with Catherine's mother and you're only reaction is "oh right this show was written by a man". Such a disappointment because now there is no satisfying option at the end of this season/their relationship. Either Catherine falls for Peter and that's disappointing and disgusting. Or she doesn't end up with him because *shocker* women don't generally fall in love with men that slept with their moms. There were all sorts of fun and sexy ways Peter could of f***ed things up with Catherine that still would leave the opportunity for a slow burn between them or at least an enjoyable(for the viewer) ending to their relationship. They could of forged a unique friendship, or Catherine could catch him doing something strange, there could of been a crazy mid-coitus murder scene, or one of them could of fallen for someone else, or they both could fall for the same person! OR SO MANY OPTIONS. Anyway not worth the disappointment!
*Obviously I understand the show is loosely based off a true story
