A criminally underrated show which, on the surface, will appear as if it's your standard procedural crime drama. But, that's just a disguise for what's a smartly-crafted, thought-provoking, action sci-fi thriller that strongly touches on concepts such as AI vs. Humanity (and the ethics of both beings), the idea of free will, the ethics of government surveillance, god commentary, etc.
The showrunners do a masterful job of blending in the early seasons' weekly stories into the bigger overall puzzle of the show, before evolving into a full-on intelligent sci-fi thriller where each episode directly follows the next. And in doing so, Person of Interest will appeal to both the casual viewer and those perhaps looking for something more profound.
The first season will be structured as a weekly crime show, dropping in important and relevant information almost every episode that advances the plot forward, and setting up for the payoffs down-the-road, meaning you shouldn't be skipping any episodes (not that you'd want to)!
Highly recommended if you're looking for something new to watch to keep you occupied and engaged! I'm currently rewatching it, and it's just as good, if not better the second time around.
