he game had a pretty sweet intro sadly it stopped right there. I have been a dedicated Rune player for 15+ years and sadly what "Rune 2" offers to the rune community is nothing. Imagine a community that has played a game for 20 years and still play the game. Imagine the excitement we had when we found out our favorite game of all time was getting a sequel. Now imagine that game doing a complete 180 of what the original was. What we were used to was Unreal Tournament with Vikings, faced paced, hack and slash killing, tons of gore. The ability to cut you opponents limbs off and beat them to death with them the next round. It was a game the was most know for its PVP (TDM DM and Arena). Throughout the years players developed ways to make the combat system even more complex and fun. Instead what Rune 2 gives us is a open world sand box rpg. Now this may be appealing to some, but this is not the Rune that I was hoping for an I can assure you the majority of the rune community was not looking for this type of game either. I understand what happened with Human Head and the rest of the Dev team and the fall out that went on, when this happened the current dev team turned to the old rune players asking for suggestions. They were give IN DEPTH ideas on how to improve the mess of a game that they had made. Not a single one of the suggestions were taken seriously. Sadly the only thing we would hear is "we will look into it" or "were not trying to remaster another game" The leadership of this game tries their hardest to silence and negative critic of the game, on their social media pages and thing that was negatively said about their game would be either taken down, deleted, or even banning the member. Rune 2 does not deserve to even have the name Rune in their title. The only reason they kept it was to piggy back off the success of the Real Rune and keep as many people (such as myself) interested. Had it not been for the title, I would have never even heard of the game or even thought about playing it. This game has a very poor combat system and offers nothing appealing. I am very sadden by how this dev team chose to run things. Instead of trying to make the game great like the Real Rune, they tried to flex their big boy muscles and go as far away possible from the Real Rune. Its like they were trying to show Human Head they had better ideas for a game, sadly they are wrong. IF they can fix their combat system and improve the PVP aspect of the game I would consider playing it. until then i will not be touching this game. 3/10
