It was an entertaining movie... good interaction between the 4 main characters. It was ok as a "beginnings" type of movie, but it should have been named "Spenser Re-written"...
The only resemblance to Robert B Parker's Spenser were the character's names, and the locations.
Avery Brooks WAS Hawk... best casting for a role I've ever seen. Duke did a good job, but he wasn't the character Parker wrote.
It's definitely worth watching, but don't expect Parker's Spenser.
