I love Hillary Mantel and have read almost all her books. I think this is her weakest book. At 800 pages, it’s 400 pages too long. There is no progression and almost no plot. Multiple dozens of minor characters, all trying to avoid execution by Henry. It’s just not well edited. Bring Up the Bodies is much better.
