Susan Bader – Google

I got through one and a half episodes. It was at times witty...but overall excruciatingly painful!!! All I could think was what the hell are they talking about ?? Is everyone in this office bisexual. Is being gay or bi chic now ? I love gay men, gay women, bi..transvestites...etc etc . But this show could make you hate them... It is such a banal, shallow, annoying characterization. And. .poor Kim .......Kim Cattrell is a great actress. She deserved more money on Sex and the City. She was brave, smart and did frontal nudity. Which let's be honest....helped get a big audience. She was also the most interesting character and the heart and soul of the story....really being the character who stood up to the female norms. As far as acting, did you see this one see her in the Ghost Writer ? I wish Hollywood would offer her a great script....Not enough of those to go around at her age? That in itself is a tragedy! Someone out there write one ! And not a stupid comedy that stereotypes any woman over 60 !

One of my biggest problems with the film is that I didn't find her funny...not in her stand up or in her zingers in real life. So it took too much suspension of reality to completely get emersed in the story. She approached the stage like a comedian. She moved like a comedian when she held the mic, and ended the show like the real thing, throwing her arms up in the air, saying "I'm Mrs. Maisel. " But she was never funny. In fact, i found her father and his quirky ways, ( as when he was lost and confused behind his stacks of books in his study ) funnier ! I felt if you're going to invest in a series about a stand up comic, isn't there an obligation the part of the show's creators, to have to make on her funny !!
