TLDR: 8.5/10 , Real world themes (Xenophobia, Racism, Bigotry, Poor vs Rich,) You can appreciate the story and doesn't leave you with questions except what is next for the New United States of America.
A couple of Mexican refugees fleeing cartel violence finds themselves in Texas, fast forward to the day of the purge, they made it through the “12-hour purging period” and continued with their day, but the purge did not stop and violence spilled into the morning and unto the following days. Banded together with a family of white ranchers, they made a run for the Mexican border hoping for sanctuary from the purgers.
I have watched all the purge movies leading to this one , and if you expect it to be anything like that then you are in for a disappointment. This movie steps away from the usual thriller and suspense provided by the previous titles. Towards the end of the movie, the main message that I got was “uniting against hate and bigotry is what will get the country back on its feet”. If you choose to examine the movie through a political microscope then there is a high chance you would say that this movie is against “white people”. Which I will have to disagree with , as the main the antagonists of this movie was visibly the white RACISTS groups in the United States. Who felt that only pure-blooded white citizens should be able to live in the country, and that any other race or color should be purged.
