It could've been a good movie on its own, but as sequel for the starwars saga, with all the lore, history and expectations it had to carry. It was kinda shocking and surprising on the first view, while trying to hard to subvert expectations..but quite underwhelming on second view.. The whole thing screams of overcooked ideas that don't quite hit the mark.. And yet it's still better than the film preceding it and the sequel following it. They made money sure. But considering the pedigree and history of the franchise and the fanbase those three films should've broken all kinds of records for viewership and completely revitalised the source material for generations to come. Better than nothing I guess.

Not a perfect horror movie by any stretch, but what it does well, it does it in spades. the haunted house story/theme is familiar but the writers and director add a few cool twists. Solid cast and acting, particularly Rebecca Hall as the main character and anchor for the film, her portrayal of grief under such brutal circumstances is very relatable imo. This movie has some stunning visuals and mood. Also the jump scares and sense of unease are some of the best and most imaginative ive seen in a while, they really disturb without the heavy handed use of chaotic lighting ,gore, loud effects that are so over used in the genre. Give it a shot.

It's not the next Game of Thrones, so if you go in thinking that expect to be disappointment (or maybe not cause GOT season 8 pretty much destroyed the legacy of that show as far as being a classic, good for memes though) . Back to the Witcher, great fun to watch, the time lines can get a little confusing,but it is engaging. The action is really good, the acting is pretty solid, good effects, has all the fantasy elements in place. Looking forward to the next season. Recommended
