CBS Sunday Morning has long been my favorite TV habit, but no more. I used to really like Jane Pauley, but no more. I still find it hard to believe that you devoted your entire program this week to a seemingly endless bash-America campaign. I am as aware as anyone of “what has been going on,” and I have questioned why, with all the emphasis on prosecuting the police, doesn’t anyone suggest prosecuting the burners and looters? Is that “just okay?” If you want to be fair, why not show some white looters exiting a store with armloads of merchandise? Even the segment on Chris Wallace’s book about the atomic bomb was a thinly veiled reminder of how inherently evil America was and is. But all that is secondary to what you are saying about my Country to a world-wide audience. You invite anti-American foreigners to join in the bash-fest, and one can only wonder, “If America is this bad, why don’t you just leave?” That alone would make America better. Barbara A.
