The bad reviews is uncalled for. It's just a fan(atic) reaction driven by emotion. In fact people have to realize that no matter what, in the end Joel is the bad guy (anti hero) . His death was heart wrenching yes, of course because of the emotional investment of every player of the first part. But his decision to save Ellie was done purely out of his love for Ellie, and not to save humanity. Maybe it was his way to let the world burn for the govt killing his daughter. But in the end revenge is not the answer. It never is. That is why Ellie grows more confused as the game progresses with growing self doubts. Abby avenged a father who could have helped save humanity if not for Joel's act. Naughty Dog fortunately did not lose the bigger picture here. The bigger picture being finding a cure to save humanity from Cordyceps. Mayb part 3 will involve Ellie ending up back with the Fireflies helping them produce a cure. Ultimately, the needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few. Abby cud have been anybody s daughter avenging a loved one's death at the hands of Joel or Ellie. Killing out of self defence is one thing but killing a surgeon doing his duty was bound to set the universe in imbalance and karma happens. Naughty Dog has made a very thought provoking game. Kudos!
