I personally think even with the unrealistic aspect of the show it's truly very interesting to watch. Reality isn't the context it's going for I don't believe, it's half reality and fantasy added. Just as she wrote fan fictions about the Larry ship. They're real people, real friends, real situations at times but the whole romantic aspect of them is all fabricated from a teenage imagination. I feel the show is basically just multiple fan fictions that all plot line together for different people's stories. It's honestly such an amazing show even with the unrealistic parts.
