The fall of Rome is the classic case study of the inevitable end of all empires, and none is better written than by Patrick Wyman, of the Tides of History podcast fame. His thesis and the laying out of the Fall or Rome is wonderfully laid out and structured. Its an enjoyably read and yet very thought provoking.

THe film's funny presence and Wilkinson's deadpan geniality is very funny, but I think the film falls a bit short in its full potential. At the end of the day, I want my money back, dead or otherwise.
