So sad that such a great comic mind returned to the national stage with nothing but poop jokes and weird accents.

Why can’t DC get it right? This was a hodgepodge of ridiculousness. Welcome to the least threatening alien villain of all time-who comes across like a toddler in a onesie on Christmas morning rather than an actual viable threat. Was it supposed to be funny? It wasn’t. Was it supposed to be innovative? It wasn’t. Was it supposed to be a vehicle for some interesting performances? It wasn’t. Thank God I didn’t pay money for a ticket. Sheesh guys. All that money and this is what you come up with?! Do better.

Oh boy was this movie terrible. Dialogue was awful, plot points were nonsensical (and often fully articulated by characters who had to point them out explicitly) direction was ham handed (let me guess, Night, his world has turned UPSIDE DOWN?!). All of which makes James Mcavoy’s performance even more of a revelation. The fact that his brilliance comes through all the layers of ineptitude and ridiculousness is truly a credit to him. He deserves a nomination for this. And I deserve a refund.
