#can'thurtme (Audible) Very inspirational when listening to David's childhood experiences I was deeply moved. My upbringing was the one you refer to as non inspiring, ( words to that effect) my parents were good people but I floated through and couldn't wait to leave home, hence pregnant at 19.
The motivation versus self discipline was a great mind shift for me. I am utilising the accountability mirror and re started journal writing.
My personal journey has not been as harrowing as David's but it is mine, and at times, its knock me for 6. I consider myself spiritual and I have person centred counselling training, a BsC Hons in Psychology and an MA in Social Work. I thought I might conflict with David's approach it was different than my person centred, empathic approach to myself and others and stirred me at first, for all the right reasons.
I have ran 4 marathons countless half's and 3 tri's. I trekked to Everest Base Camp, jumped out of a plane over the Bahamas at 11, 000 feet and travelled and lived in various parts of the world.
I lost my husband to suicide, which I carry in my heart daily. I am now 52 recently left a emotionally, psychologically and financially abusive relationship. I have gained 20lbs, sad most of the blooming time, stress in my job as a social worker but I needed something and seriously this book gave me the kick up the rear I needed!!
Right now was the very right time for me to listen to this book. Thank you David.
