The book is beautifully illustrated with soft water colour pictures, but the story itself is more adult themed , exploring the relationship between fathers and sons, a gentle reminder that fathers matter. Most children want a point to a story or a moral dilemma or exciting outcome. This might be a soothing tale for the very young but there's not enough to grab for the over 4's.
