When compared to the masterpiece that is the anime, the movie was... Alright at best! But having that said, the characters and plot is changed quite a bit and one shouldn't be comparing it to the anime. Having that said too, the movie felt rushed and the plot could have been executed in a far better and intriguing way if only they had turned the adaptation into a series rather than a movie.
