First off, it’s a great plot and Viola Davis gives a fascinating, powerful performance. It’s not as unrealistic as some would have you believe. And the plot line moves along in a way that is compelling.
BUT, and maybe this is a spoiler, the other characters all seem to think alike. How many times have I heard this dialogue: “It’s all her fault! My fault! Their fault,” etc. Assigning blame, not really thinking in any depth about who they themselves are, not giving any thought to layers of personality. Wes will say that Annalise is protecting him. He never goes further then that, to ask himself if her actions are really helping him. No one calls Laurel out on her constant interference and bullying. There is very little depth there, as if everyone is stuck in the mentality and morality of a 12 year old. That gets a little boring.
The most varied character is Annalise, who doesn’t seem to see what she is doing or why.
