I have been playing NHL games since NHL 15, which was a dumpster fire. This year I was excited to learn that they were gonna improve Be a pro form previous years and make it more like Living The Life, although it is repetitive with dialogue and other things it’s a step in the right direction.
Franchise mode, my personal favorite mode is almost a copy and paste of last year. The Simulation engine was weak last year and inconsistent, even when the team was labeled as a contender or champion at some times I was going under .500 in the wins column. This year is the exact same, in the playoffs my team which won the presidents trophy was beaten by a team with a 77 overall starting goalie who ended the series with a .966 save percentage while my 90 overall goalie had a .844 save percentage. I do really like the new trade deadline and the options with the quality of prospects slider.
Hockey Ultimate Team, it’s always been pay to win but you still can outplay the opponent and win the game. This year the goalies are Swiss cheese, your opponents goalie would have a .955 while your goalie had a .667. If you have bad internet, you do not have a chance in HUT rivals, but if your like me then you can still play squad battles which is actually very fun. The matchmaking is not good but not terrible, you will sometimes go up against some one with a similar team or someone that spent $400 on packs whose 4th line is better than your first line.
World of Chel, if you don’t have good internet or play the game 7 hours a day, good luck. Like the addition of practice mode though, very nice addition.
In conclusion, this game has potential to be the best NHL game of all time, but the lack of time and effort is glaring.
Thank you for your time.
