It's a very fresh look at an all familiar story of drug cartels and international crime syndicates. Its really three stories....a family business in which its main source of income is through shipping narcotics on the high seas from ocean freighter liners, mexican soldiers who become private security and frontline producers of their local drug trade, and Italian mafia who distribute their finished illicit products. There are some great performances from some compelling actors. There's too many to mention. Also,their stories move back and forth in time. That's very hard to follow, you can't really leave the show for a second. It's worth the journey though.

Its a superb series. The visuals, storyline, and cast are great. Second season deals with a mystery of the red angel which was interesting and worth the journey. I hope the 3rd season is just as good. Captain Pike who never really got his due finally got a chance to shine in the captain's chair. We also got to see a younger Spock early in his Starfleet career and his relationships before TOS. My only problem is that they introduced an adult element with a homosexuality angle at that, which I would have rather seen left out.
