Beautiful cinematography. Emma Watson was lovely as Meg. As a faithful reader of the Little Women series I was disappointed in the development of several characters, specifically Amy and Marmee. The choice to bounce between flash backs and “current time” was often confusing (even for someone who knows the story well) and interrupted the natural flow of the story. The 1994 adaption was truer to the original work. That being said the end of this adaption where she talks to the editor and her “fate” is revealed is wonderful and much closer to Louisa May Alcott’s actual life. Overall an enjoyable movie but just doesn’t live up to the stories legacy.
