I love the representation in this show. Different body types, LGBT, neurodivergency, it has everything. I especially love how teenagers look and act like teenagers. This is one of the first shows that actually represent teenagers (despite them being close to loyalty (: ) correctly.
The growth that most characters went through is amazing. I used to not like Felice but her character growth really made me enjoy her despite it having only six episodes. In six episodes, the writers can make me completely change my opinion on a character. Every character has depth. No character is nor good or bad. I loved Sara in the beginning, but her actions switch when she gets what she wants and it's beautifully realistic. August, I just hate him there's nothing else to say. But all of these characters have depth, whether it be struggling from deciding between good or bad or having familial issues (or both in August's and Sara's case).
The plot may have been done millions of times but I love the way the writers took it and put a spin on it. Despite me reading books and watching millions of movies with a similar plot, the show made the repeating plot extremely enjoyable.
Extra: wow can we talk about this casting. They did a great job! The parallels done in this show is lovely. The music possibly predicting the future. I love foreshadowing. The acting! Wow!
I think the show left off at the perfect place for season 2 and I believe season 2 will be just as good if they decide to make it. If not, I'll be honest, they wasted a perfect opportunity.
