Revelatory documentary. Yuval Noah Harari book, Sapiens, covers this subject. Being from Sri Lanka and having a Buddhist background, I understand what's fair and what's not. I also go to Church (my wife is Catholic). Most of world history is not pretty but the main thing is learning from our mistakes and being able to let go of our ego allowing us to improve ourselves. That's the only way to move forward if we're to have a peaceful future for ALL mankind.
In Sri Lanka and the majority of countries in the world, the overall popular vote is what matters. In previous US presidential elections, Al Gore and Hillary should have won if above was the case and that's a fact. However, I also respect the electoral system because it gives each state a voice but if some states (especially the southern ones) don't respect the rights of all its residents, then it looses it's purpose.
There are many hardcore right wing close-minded individuals here trying to give this documentary a bad review because they know deep down the the truth is something very different to their ideology and are afraid to come to terms with reality.
I call all democrats and republicans alike to give this documentary a good review if you believe in equality. If not, the phrase, "all men (and women) are created equal", stated in your country's Declaration of Independence, simply has no meaning.
Thank you.
