Out of my mind is such a heartwarming book. Its about a girl called Melody and her life as a person who cant speak of walk. People think she is retarded, dumb and so much more right in her face thinking "oh well if she cant talk or walk she probably cant hear" but little do they know that she has a photographic memory and has so much things going on in her head just not being able to express it. My school librarian said it was one of the best books and no one ever disliked it and boi was she right. And this book actually teaches you to be grateful there are kids in the world who cant speak or talk and you hate your voice? Overall its A-M-A-Z-I-NG and those who disliked it probably have no life.

I mean the series is great but the idea of having a muslim in a book about gods is just confusing. As a muslim i got real excited when i found out there was a muslim character but its all confusing. First she wears a scarf/ hijab but then again she lets her hair flow freely and takes it off around guys which just defeats the purpose of a hijab. Second of all, She's muslim and has a god for a dad like first of muslims only have one god and second its shirk to think the god has kids and stuff ( why do i read it then for fun i dont believe the whole greek norse egyptian gods thing) and then theres the sam nickname it just doesnt sound arab like more white like( dont take it the rasist way) but overall other than those problems im cool with samirah she is one of my favourite characters and she does seem like a bad ass so yeah
