What a wonderful opportunity is being handed to the producers of The View, in light of the recent comment by Whoopi Goldberg. How about considering daily educational segments where experts guests and the hosts tackle and discuss topical issues like “What is race?” I’d love to see a copy of my middle school or high school history text book to know how subjects like race relations, the Holocaust, wars, the Constitution, religion, sex, gender roles, etc. were and were NOT addressed. Only by confronting and discussing issues do we understand and deal with them in a way that fosters tolerance and problem solving.
