I have been watching CBS Sunday Morning for 30+ years. I have always watched because of the quality of each show, each segment, and each commentator.
I know that the show is going through a lot of changes “Changing of the Guard” as it were.
Unfortunately, it is, in my opinion, not going smoothly. You are losing your best and neither replacing them with anyone or replacing them with inferior talent.
It was nice to see Ted Koppel interviewing George Will. Neither commentator’s but they are seasoned enough to take on their own segment!
I am afraid that the show has gone down hill with the loss of its key players, Charles Osgood and Bill Guist mainly.
But, it does start at the top. While Jane Pauley has considerable experience, she has yet to feel the shoes that so desperately need to be filled. And since she has begun her tenure, there has been a change in your segments. Especially hers. Leave the beauty of this non bias, great story telling television show as is was. Fun, informative, and, of course, entertaining!
When the trumpet’s sound I still get chills, but the excitement is short lived.
Please bring back the professionalism and dignity that only true professionals personify.
It feels as though you are barely holding on to the beautiful legacy to which this show has always upheld.
I really do like Martha Teichner, Lee Cohen and Steve Hartman. They all seem to have the qualities necessary for this type of show. Which are intelligence with an endearing persona. Charles Osgood certainly displayed these qualities.
Unfortunately, three does not an incredible show make. Please make the necessary changes to save my show!
Thank you
