If this was the first movie in the franchise there wouldn't be two more.. not sure what universe people would rate this a four or especially a five.. Stand alone I might give it a two , compared to the original I would rate this it a one..

Despite a very strong cast, this movie is overall pretty bad. Poor plot, poor screen play, & not so good acting. Children might enjoy it but adults likely won't. It's a ridiculous movie then tries too hard, not funny, and not well constructed. Love Arnold but this is one of his worst movies. The overall ratings on Rotten and IDbm are a pretty fair assessment that this is a below-average movie. Bottom line there are far better Christmas movies to be had such as the elf or the Christmas story or several others. This one is simply not worth watching , period , Christmas or not.
