Possibly the worst television I’ve ever watched. The plot is ludicrous, the acting - other than that of the lead, Robyn - is appalling, the characters bear no resemblance to real people (especially Miranda), and some of the dream sequences are just too ridiculous for words! There is nothing that goes close to mitigating the awfulness of this show. Everyone - the cast, production crew and financial backers - must all be in Jane Campion’s thrall. How else could actors of the calibre of Nicole Kidman and David Wenham have been drawn into such a swirling cesspit of faecality?
