I had never heard of this movie before, but I decided to give it a try because Tina Fey was in it. I think the reason it didn't do better at the box office is that people probably expected it to be a war comedy. To be sure, there were several mildly humorous moments in the first part of the movie when she first arrived in Afghanistan, but the humor gradually turned more ironic as the story became more serious. I was surprised at how realistic the street scenes in Afghanistan
seemed and how touching the romance was between Fey and Martin Freeman's characters. I really enjoyed this movie and I think it's a shame it didn't get more recognition when it came out.
