In heartfelt romantic Christmas movies, the girl usually runs away when she is mistreated or under appreciated by the guy (or other girl)... in this movie the girl is mistreated, under appreciated, almost cheated on, accused of burglary, and pretty much everything else nasty that can happen to a lead... and with the excuse of not having 1000 dollars for the trip home, which by the way is a horrible excuse, since you can travel anywhere in the US with a 100 dollars, or at least get to a Hotel far away from the abuser... but no, in this awful movie they put the lead, and more importantly, us the audience, to a non stop myriad of abuse, madness, and disgust. Just one justification of the abuser after another. Abuse should not be justified... least of all by a supposedly “inclusive” movie. No feel-good moments, no lighthearted moments, just pure psychological abuse. If this story is based on real life I’m so sorry for the poor soul that endured it. Avoid this “Christmas” movie at all cost!!!
