This movie is a great experience, especially for young teen girls, looking for a character they can relate to. I watched this movie with my family, both of whom proceeded to praise the film for its clever humor, quick witted dialogue, amazing animation, beautiful message, and it's relatability factor. As a kid who grew up in the 2000s I found this movie hilariously relatable, from the excitement of making a silly doodle (and wanting to hide it from your parents) to the obsession with a singer or "boy band", and even the band kid stereotype. I absolutely loved it. I think it addresses growing older in a smart and funny way as to appeal to audiences outside of the targeted range. Additionally, seeing characters with so many unique body types, personalities, disabilities, and cultures was really nice as well. I feel as if each background character could have a story of their own as well! I think Turning Red was bold in its move to so explicitly talk about a topic like puberty, but I think that should be normalized and not shunned as it's something we all go through.

Steven Universe is a FANTASTIC show. A lot of the people criticising it are doing so because of the wlw relationships. In my opinion it’s representation is fantastic. Steven Universe and how it represents so many people is in my opinion, quite an influential thing for this generation of cartoons. Steven Universe took a bold decision by making such a diverse show, and it pays off. There are characters of all different, genders, sexualities, body types, different colors, and all are represented so well and positively!!! Also, I have the art book and the character design is so fantastic! The sheer use of shape language alone makes the art style really special and each character unique. The music is also quite enjoyable. It seems surreal yet classical. And Rebecca sugars song writing talents make it that much better. As for the story itself, it’s quite alright. It’s definitely more character based rather than plot based so if you get bored of a lot of dialogue and slow pacing, the show may not be for you. However I personally love the story and the diamonds are done so well, same thing with peridot and her loyalty to them shifting. Not to mention garnets wedding is absolutely adorable. There are a few little plot holes i am not the biggest fan of however. For example, the cluster. We never hear about it again. Anyways I recommend this show, and for anyone avoiding it bc of the fandom or other people views on it, give it a chance it’s fantastic. 💖

In conclusion this show is ok. I bought the first season (book one) because I had been wanting to watch it. I really like tulip as a character, and the situation she’s in with her family is quite realistic and may provide comfort for those who have been through the same. The plot is cool too. Kinda over the garden wall vibes in a way but not as magical. As for the characters other than tulip, the only one I really like is one-one,because let’s face it,,, he’s adorable. I am not so sure about the corgi character, I didn’t really get him or his intentions, same thing with the cat. As for the episodes themselves, they are kinda boring mainly because they are slow. The numbers on their hands is a cool touch, but it honestly feels like an easy plug for character development. I’m not sure how I feel about the show. I really wanna love it but it is really slow paced and I don’t really get it. The animation and art style is fantastic however, so I’m willing to rewatch it since I own the dvd

Quite honestly, I LOVE a majority of this show. However, I do have a few things to criticise. For example,,, I didn’t like any of season one. There were a few interesting moments but it felt very immature, and overly silly. Not to mention Ferguson and Alfonzo, very forgettable characters. However, season two fixes most of this, with the plot revolving mainly about how Ludo has half of stars wand, and the whole thing with toffee. One thing I didn’t like was how they ended toffee so soon. He could have really been a great villain if they kept working on his story. As for season 3, the change in setting was a bit abrupt, but I got used to it and season three is actually my favorite season. I think eclipsa is a very interesting character with complex motives and backstorys. I also like the sort of redemption with Tom. The tension between mewmans and monsters also feels realistic to an actual society. As for season four, it does well up until the final few episodes. I really didn’t like Mina as a villain, she was quite bland and the buildup of four seasons only to end with Mina was quite disappointing. There are also a lot of plot holes within the story, but nonetheless still a great show.
