Like other disappointed readers. I felt this book could have easily been told using 1/3 the number of pages.
If you don't catch that the Masons have 33 steps of enlightenment, don't worry, you'll catch it by the 538th time he tells you. Impressive because there aren't that many pages, almost but not quite.
The "twist" that Brown throws at you toward the end was so obvious from the start. Total nonsense to begin with. I have a son. If when he was in his 20's he went away and bulked up on steroids and covered his body with tattoos, I think I'd still recognize him if I spent considerable amounts of time with him.
Save yourself, go read a cereal box, just as enlightening, and there actually is a reward inside...go for Lucky Charms. The magic is real!
