Great addition to the series. It feels like it starts a little slow and the controls feel heavy (especially after playing Payback), but as soon as you start upgrading your car it gets much better. If you like to keep the difficulty setting on high for the other racers, I recommend keeping a good gap between your car and the recommended levels of the race. Even up to 30 levels ahead, it can be quite difficult staying in the lead.
The car tuning options in this one are the best out of any NFS in my opinion. You can tune any ride to drift through turns, corner hard through turns for rally races, drive off road, or swing wide turns for drifting events. I keep my car's steering and suspension tuned for hard corners only when racing. I used to LOVE sliding through turns fast when racing which you of course can still do, but instead now I stick to a line, brake and corner hard, then take off out of turns. It's so much different and I love it.
The night/day racing for bank and rep is a little off putting, but you get used to it. Race in the day for money, race at night to earn rep and unlock better parts. Pretty straightforward.
The storyline is decent. Far better than Payback. There are a lot of extra side story missions you can play as you go.
The soundtrack however. Ugh, the soundtrack. 80% reggaeton, 15% hip hop, 5% random genre. I personally can't stand reggaeton, and I'm not a fan of hip hop. There are literally only two songs in this game that I like. I turned the music off altogether.
I've experienced bugs with the sound, which can be aggravating at times. Once in a while, all sound will cut out except the noise of the car tires, and a little more often, the engine noise cuts in and out. A simple restart of the game fixes this (usually).
Overall, I'm very satisfied. Worth the money.
