In a world where raccoons' preferred mode of transportation is the moped, holes have begun appearing across town. Giant holes. Giant holes so massive that entire houses are being swallowed. And why are these holes appearing? Because of the hot new mobile app that has local donut hotspot Donut County delivering their donuts right at your doorstep (or forest), that's why.
Featuring a cute, bright, and funny world and cast, Donut County has players control a donu--ahem, a hole that grows larger and larger and larger until those who placed their online order are swallowed up. With a fun premise, easy and relaxing gameplay that's a cinch to pick up, and minor (very minor) puzzle aspects, you'll find yourself a short narrative, but one that's worth the selling price, for sure.
If you're not willing to pay console port's top dollar, an iOS version is available for a mere $4.99 which should be a crime to sell at. Not having played the mobile release, I can only imagine how seamless gameplay is. Sadly, there's no Android port, so those without an Apple device (and those only owning an Xbox One) are left to look elsewhere.
Admittedly, gameplay is light. It's a short game without asking much of any effort or challenge. You simply swallow everything, with only the most minor thinking involved. But it's a fun game, and one that young ones especially would get a lot of enjoyment out of. But don't let that sway you--I'm certainly no child and enjoyed every moment playing this gem.
