The movie drags at times and lacks any "fantastical" elements that would indicate that this is a comic book movie. While Joquin Phoenix puts in a great performance, entertainment value is sorely lacking. As an origin story, it is hard to see how This Joker becomes a criminal mastermind worthy of challenging the Batman.
